Two Gale Webinars for Oregon Staff: Promoting Resources & Gale eBook Viewing Options

Hi,

Two webinars about the Gale databases, from our statewide database offerings, are being offered specifically for Oregon school library staff. All school library staff – classified and licensed – are welcome to participate. For the second webinar, teachers and other interested staff are also welcome to participate. The goal is to record each session.

The State Library of Oregon and Gale provide you with a wealth of information spanning through multiple resources, which can be overwhelming for users. In this session we will review strategies to promote your resources and educate staff, patrons, and students on what they have access to. This session is intended for library staff involved in patron/student outreach and training. (Amber Winters, Gale Trainer)

Gale eBooks provides you with full text eBooks in a variety of topics including the arts, social studies, consumer medicine, science, technology, and world cultures. In this session we will explore the two viewing options built into the resource, Book View and Text View, to develop an understanding of their differences, and the tools available in each. By the end of this session, you will be able to identify the benefits of each, and which situations would work best for either view. (Amber Winters, Gale Trainer)

Questions? Please ask.

Thanks,
Jen
