OASL/WLMA Conference Announcement
August 17, 2008
OSLIS Users,
OASL (Oregon Assn of School Libraries) and
WLMA (Washington Library Media Assn) have put together a first rate conference
for inservice weekend in October. Learn more about it at http://oemawlma2008.org/index.htm. You can register for the
conference and for any of the extended session.
Don't miss your chance to spend 3 hours Saturday morning (Oct. 11) with
OSLIS 2.0 guru Patty Sorensen and an EBSCO national trainer. This session will
prepare you to support your students and staffs as they navigate the ins and
outs of the (almost) new OSLIS interface and EBSCO's new 2.0 tools. Learn how
to create and use your own space to store files (documents, graphics, articles)
that are available from computers at school, at home, at your public library,
wherever you have access to the Internet for both OSLIS and EBSCO.
You will leave this session knowing about and being able to show users how
to register and create their own My Stuff space. Studends and staff members who
register on OSLIS 2.0 can not only access instructional support for completing a
research project beginning with defining an assignment to reflecting on the
completed project, but also store and share documents, files, pictures, receive
RSS feeds and more. The OSLIS 2 registration process will also allow school
librarians and educators to communicate and collaborate with students about
their project via OSLIS 2.
Do not delay to register for the
conference by clicking on the word Register at http://oemawlma2008.org/
