Hi,
For two of the databases available on the Find Information page on OSLIS (elementary, secondary), Gale is able to provide MARC records that you can add to your school library catalog. Doing so provides additional discovery and access points for the eBooks. The MARC records for the eBooks in Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL) and National Geographic Kids (NGK) are available for download from the K-12 Resources page on Gale’s support site for Oregon library staff.
For GVRL, you can download all of the MARC records or choose sets by audience level. There’s also a file with just the new-to-us science eBooks. Also, a State Library web page has a spreadsheet that lists all of the titles available through our statewide instance of GVRL.
For National Geographic Kids, there is the option to download all of the records or just the sets since the last time NGK records were added to the support site, which was in March 2015.
You will need to know your Location ID, which is the same as the username portion of your Gale login.
Download directions are provided on the support page, but if you have questions, please reach out to the Gale contact listed at the bottom of the page.
Thanks,
Jen
