Hi,

A few school districts have reported experiencing problems when logging into Gale, whether remotely from home or when automatic authentication used to work at school.  Despite entering the correct user name and password, some folks get a message stating, “Protocol error communicating with authentication server; please try again later.  Please enter your library ID, barcode, or other ID.” 

I reported this problem to Gale and will let you know when they say things are fixed.
