August 6, 2010
As a reminder,
Gale and OSL will offer webinars in August and October to train Oregon library
staff on Gale’s new interface for Opposing Viewpoints. Note that
all Resource Center products will soon transition to the new interface
and will be called In Context. The databases in bold are part of
our statewide contract.
- Biography Resource Center will become Biography in Context
(and will incorporate content from previously separate modules).
- History Resource Center: U.S. = U.S. History in Context
- History Resource Center: World = World History in Context
- Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center = Opposing Viewpoints in Context (OVIC)
- Science Resource Center = Science in Context
- Student Resource Center Gold = Student Resources in Context
(Several versions of SRC are being combined into one In Context
platform.)

For information about how to access a webinar, open the PDF from the
Gale Support Site for Oregon Libraries or from OSL’s Database page (links
below). You will need a phone (landline or cellular) and a computer with
an Internet connection. Ideally, you will have a quiet space for
participating as lots of background noise makes it difficult for others to
hear.

Those attending the OASL conference in Bend have the option of going to the
OSLIS/Gale session on Friday morning, October 8th. As part of
the database training, the Gale trainer will show us how to use the new
interface for OVIC.
Want to see the
new interface now? Go to Opposing Viewpoints via OSLIS or check
