Locating the Right Reference Tools: Video & Sound Recordings

Video and sound recordings are good resources for doing your research.

  • Video and sound recording collections are often located in special collections in libraries. They can provide valuable additions to your information and help you develop a sense of the time or subject you are investigating.
  • Audiovisual materials may be used as a reference tool in your research. Your library may have videos, DVDs, audio cassettes, or CDs. They are often identified in your catalog using the format or a code to represent the format.  Ask for the librarian's help.
