Plan: Sound & Video
Video & Sound Recordings
Video and sound recordings are good resources for doing your research.
- Video and sound recording collections are often located in special collections in libraries. They can provide valuable additions to your information and help you develop a sense of the time or subject you are investigating.
- Audiovisual materials may be used as a reference tool in your research. Your library may have videos, DVDs, audio cassettes, or CDs. They are often identified in your catalog using the format or a code to represent the format. Ask for the librarian's help.
- Online databases such as EBSCO's
Student Research Center (found in your Student Resources box on the right) or subscriptions to World Book online.
Internet
searches may provide you with additional resources. Be sure to check that your Internet results are from reliable web pages. Before using a webpage that claims to be a primary or secondary source, be sure to check the address line and the About Us section. For additional help check out the OSLIS Search Strategies lessons.
